Cosmetic Laser Treatments at FADE
Here at FADE, we offer a range of Laser Skin Therapies using the latest innovations in laser and light treatments for optimal results in your skin’s appearance.
While we are well known for our Laser Tattoo Removal, our cosmetic Laser Therapies offer a wide range of options for cosmetic and aesthetic purposes. At FADE we exclusively use the PicoSure® Laser - the first and leading choice for skin revitalization, tackling tired, dull skin and providing treatments for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and pigments such as freckles, sunspots and discolouration.
Laser Skin Therapy - how does it work?
The PicoSure® Laser is the first of a new generation of aesthetic lasers that don’t rely on heat to burn or melt away melanin, the pigment that causes dark spots in your skin. Rather than using heat, the PicoSure® delivers waves of energy so rapidly (in trillionths of a second) that they vibrate and shatter the tiny particles that make up pigment, without burning surrounding tissues. Less heat means less tissue damage and discomfort. The technology is designed to harness the body’s natural healing processes to restore youthful skin. Using the PicoSure® Focus Lens technology, the gentle pressure waves activate cell signalling, boosting collagen and elastin structures.
What can Laser Skin Therapy do for you?
PicoSure’s unique energy delivery is a breakthrough for patients who want to improve their skin appearance and reduce signs of aging, but don’t want to deal with the risks, pain and downtime of traditional laser treatments. Using highly targeted energy, PicoSure® gently disrupts the particles responsible for a range of pigment conditions like freckles, sunspots or other discoloration.
With the revolutionary Focus Lens, PicoSure® has the ability to improve fine lines, wrinkles, age lines and acne scars. This laser therapy is designed to activate the body’s natural immune response while minimising injury and discomfort. Because it uses gentle pressure instead of dangerous, damaging heat there’s no need for a long painful recovery. Most patients only experience a few hours of mild redness.
With PicoSure®, there is no need to sacrifice safety, comfort or convenience for effectiveness, and no need to cover up, miss work or leisure activities.

Facial Laser Resurfacing
Laser and light-based facial treatment, also known as facial laser resurfacing, can help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and pigmentation such as freckles and sunspots through direct, short, concentrated, pulsating beams of light. This resurfacing technique covers a wide range of skin problems including facial aging, age spots, pigment changes, redness and other conditions.
Our PicoSure® Laser is also capable of filling in deep dermal lines and wrinkles around the entire face, and is the best way to work on the texture and tone of your skin. In order to achieve thorough facial rejuvenation, the skin’s collagen needs to be adequately stimulated. All of our treatments use Non-ablative Laser - these are far less invasive than ablative treatments which actually destroy tissue. It is this non-ablative therapy which allows us to target the deep dermal layers of the skin while still avoiding downtime.
Popular Laser Skin Therapies
Here at FADE we use our PicoSure® Focus Lens array to treat patients with acne scarring, Rosacea, Melasma, sun damaged skin, irregular pigmentation and loss of volume and elasticity. Our patients usually fall under three categories - those who have pigmentation issues due to sun exposure, those who suffer from facial redness and those whose main concern is treating the signs of ageing, related to fine lines and wrinkles.
Aesthetic concerns vary from patient to patient. For men, common concerns are sun damage, excess redness on the cheek area and Rosacea. Many women who come in to us are interested in treatments for fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage, or for therapies targeting pigmentation and age spots. Women in particular may be seeking treatment for skin issues due to natural hormonal changes, which can really benefit from laser treatment.
What to consider before Laser Skin Therapy
When considering the best treatment options for you, we assess a number of factors, such as whether we need to target the epidermis or superficial dermis. We consider your skin type, sensitivity, skin concerns, medical history and lifestyle before commencing any Laser treatment. During this we will also consider our endpoint. For example, we may need to stimulate collagen and elastin and break down uneven pigmentation.
It is important to be mindful of the fact that depending on your desires and expectations, more than one Laser treatment may be required. As we treat sun-damage, fine lines or pigmentation, we recommend taking time to allow skin to restore and rejuvenate.
We advise our clients to maintain a consistent skin care regimen and encourage the use of products target areas of concern. For example, if we are treating hyperpigmentation, we encourage the bi-daily use of a serum rich in pigment stabilisers, such as L-ascorbic acid, a good quality SPF (sun cream) and adding in a night cream, rich in Retinol. We also advise avoiding sun exposure two weeks pre-treatment and throughout the duration of treatments. Sun avoidance is the best aftercare for any laser skin treatment.
How long until I see results?
For most Laser Skin therapies we allow between 4 - 8 weeks to see significant impact. It may appear at first that nothing has happened, but by the fourth week there will be a significant difference. Results also depend on the issue being treated. For some, such as sun lesions, you can expect to see a difference immediately. For epidermal pigmentation you can see results the results of your first treatment after four weeks and for concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles that require collagen stimulation, the average number of treatments is four, spaced a month apart.
